Collections

Winning a judgment is great.
Actually collecting the money that you are owed is better.

So you’ve fought hard for your client

and won a judgment. Wonderful. Now what? Unfortunately, in the State of New York the defendant is under no obligation to pay this judgment, and it falls on the judgment creditor to locate the judgment debtor’s assets. Judgment collection is governed by Article 52 of the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules and constitutes an intricate maze of regulations which must be followed for you to succeed.

In his younger days as a full time litigator, Mr. Goldstein came to the conclusion that several otherwise very competent attorneys simply did not understand how to collect a judgment once a matter had been concluded. As such, he taught himself this important skill with an eye to becoming the attorney that other attorneys turn to for all of their judgment collection needs. Mr. Goldstein is well versed in advanced collection techniques and the intricacies of the New York State laws, all of which must be followed to the letter before you are allowed to collect. He will evaluate your case, discuss the likelihood of recovery, and tenaciously pursue the assets to which you are entitled.
